The amount of cutting in the process is a factor that must be considered when programming the CNC machining center. When selecting the amount of cutting, it is necessary to fully consider the various factors affecting the cutting, reasonable cutting conditions and cutting amount, which can effectively improve the quality and output of the machining center. Then there are many factors that affect the cutting conditions. For the machining center, the equipment itself, the selected tool, the material of the workpiece, the hardness, the rigidity, the type of cutting, the cooling method, the cutting speed, the depth, the feed rate, and the precise determination. The factors such as the amount of cutting and the amount of feed cannot be ignored.

We know that cutting operations are the most important way of working in a machining center. In the cutting operation of the machining center, the cutting speed directly affects the cutting efficiency. If the cutting speed is too small, the cutting time will be lengthened, and the tool will not be able to perform its function. If the cutting speed is too fast, the cutting time can be shortened, but the tool is likely to generate high heat and affect the life of the tool. So ensuring cutting speed is the top priority in our work.

1. Pay attention to the matching degree between tool material and workpiece material.

The maximum cutting speed allowed is different for different tool materials. The high temperature resistance and cutting speed of high speed steel tools, carbide tools and ceramic tools are different. For long tool life, a lower cutting speed should be used accordingly.

 2. Cutting depth and feed rate

The depth of cut is directly proportional to the amount of feed and the cutting resistance. The cutting depth and the amount of cutting are large, and the cutting resistance is also large. If the cutting process has strict temperature requirements, the cutting speed should be reduced in the face of heat increase during the cutting process.

3. The shape of the tool

The shape of the tool, the size of the angle, and the sharpness of the cutting edge all affect the selection of the cutting speed.

4. Selection of cutting fluid

The two main functions of the cutting fluid for the machining center are lubrication and cooling. The cutting of the tool must be used.

In general, when selecting the cutting amount in CNC numerical control programming, the actual requirements of the machining center and the durability of the tool must be followed, so that the cutting amount and the feed amount can be accurately determined.
